Rainbow Tours is a genuinely specialist tour operator. We
arrange trips to one fascinating part of the world - southern
and East Africa, and the Indian Ocean islands – and nothing
else.
All of our staff are experienced. They have been arranging
successful holidays in our area of expertise for years, and they
all have extensive, personal and recent experience of African
travel themselves.
We are genuinely different from most other travel companies. We
ensure that our staff, as well as our directors, remain
up-to-date and in touch by travelling in the countries in which
we operate, staying in the accommodation we offer, meeting the
people who host, guide and transfer our clients, and testing
excursions and experiences.
We believe this investment to be essential. It provides our
clients with unrivalled and current, in-depth knowledge of our
destinations, which is one crucial ingredient in providing a
successful tailor-made service. Some of our destinations, like
Madagascar and Rwanda, are fairly new to tourism and have
limited and/or fragile infrastructures; in these countries, we
travel regularly to ensure standards, negotiate improvements –
and to devise ways to minimise the difficulties of travelling in
these emerging destinations.

We
offer:
Self-drive itineraries
These are most popular for South Africa, Reunion and Namibia. We
also arrange 4x4's for travel into Mozambique.
Non-driving tours
If you don't want to drive on holiday, you may travel by air
charter, train, car with driver/guide or minibus shuttle
service. In Ethiopia and Madagascar, travel between destinations
by scheduled flights. There are also a wide range of quality
escorted tours.
Escorted tours and safaris
Our escorted tours are by minibus, not by coach. You can choose
a complete two-week tour, or modules lasting from one to
seven-days. Among the most popular are Garden Route tours,
Kruger Park tours, camping, walking and mekoro safaris
in Botswana and wildlife tours in Madagascar. We also run small
group tours for special interests - or your own group. Ask about
our birding, photographic and cultural tours.
Honeymoons
We will help you plan the honeymoon of your dreams for a
realistic price. Bush and beach combinations - South Africa,
Botswana or Tanzania + Seychelles, Mauritius or Zanzibar - is
one popular choice. Madagascar is ideal for people seeking
unique wildlife, breathtaking beaches and a bit of an adventure.
Family Holidays
Consult us about an affordable safari holiday for the whole
family - or a 'bush and beach' combination holiday. Your
teenagers will be glad you made them go!
International flights
If you have flights already, let us help you with your land
arrangements. If you need flights, we can quote with these, too.
Our flight prices are very competitive, when part of a
"package".
